Rites of
Spring 2005
May 7-8, 2005 - Walhalla, Michigan
Put on by The Capitol Chapter & The Great Lakes Dual Sporters
The season opener event is not to be missed. Certainly
the largest CCC event of the year, rain or shine, there are many riders
to share great times with in early May. Typically there are 800+ single
track riders and 90 Dual Sport participants. This may sound like a lot,
but the trails are never crowded - one of those unsolved mysteries.
The Event is held at the Whiskey
Creek Resort.
Off-Road 2-Wheel Only Route:
The 100 mile Big “O” & Little “O” loop
with 60 mile option. A 10 mile Kids’ oop on Whiskey Creek property.
NOTICE: Permits have once again been obtained from the four counties
to allow unlicensed 2-wheel motorcycles on county roads on the Big “O” /
Little “O” Route. Sorry, no ATV route is available. U.S.
Forest Service Rule: No 3 or 4-wheeled ATV’s allowed on the Big “O” Loop
at any time of the year.
Brought to you by: GREAT
LAKES DUAL SPORTERS M/C. Difficult as it may seem, we've come up
with more fantastic new stuff for your riding pleasure. Two loops with

offs that make for a variety of riding options from 30 mile jaunts

We are going to mark both routes into Whiskey Creek. The route through
Baldwin, and U.S.-10 to Walhalla Rd. We have 12" x 12" yellow
and black plastic route signs with reflective coating on them,
which should not get confused with smaller CCC trail route
paper markers
along the road route into camp. Some roads into Whiskey Creek
are also the trail routes; don't get these two types of markers
confused.
The longer/easier route: Take U.S.-10 to Walhalla, turn south on
Walhalla Rd. go 5 1/2 miles to Hawley Rd., turn west then go 1 3/4
miles to Woods Trail then south to Whiskey Creek. See page 2 of the
CCC mapbook.
The shorter - more difficult to follow (especially
in the dark) route. From the Wesco Gas Station in Baldwin, follow
the
yellow signs through "back side" of Baldwin to Carrs
Rd., go 13 miles from railroad tracks, turn south on Walhalla
Rd, go 1.4
miles and turn west on Hawley Rd., go 1 3/4 miles and turn south
onto Woods Trail Rd.
